This page describes an anonymous and confidential process for communicating concerns or reports of misconduct about the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) and also explains how we manage personal information.
 
Ethics/Code of Conduct
NEEA is dedicated to providing our funders, employees, stakeholders and any other interested party a safe and productive workplace and to conducting our business in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Anonymous and confidential reports of misconduct about NEEA can be provided through a secure server at EthicsPoint. EthicsPoint enables employees, customers, and vendors to communicate openly and securely with a company's management or board of directors by maintaining anonymity and confidentiality.

Management of Personal Information
NEEA does not sell or rent personal information about visitors to this website, those who sign up to receive the NEEA newsletter or other communication materials, and those who contact us by mail, phone or email. On very rare occasions it shares information with organizations working toward similar goals.

If you visit our Website to browse, read, or download information, we automatically collect and store the:

  • name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet;
  • Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using;
  • browser software you use and your operating system;
  • date and time you access our site;
  • and the Internet address of the site from which you linked directly to our site.
We use this information as anonymous aggregate data to determine the number of visitors to different sections of our site and to help us make our site more useful.

We do not use this information to track or record information about individuals. We do not use "cookies" or tracking mechanisms that collect personally identifying information on our site. A "cookie" is a small text file that a website can place on your computer's hard drive in order to collect information about your activities on a site.

If you sign up to receive the NEEA newsletter, your name, mailing address and email address are added to our mailing list so that we may send you the publication. The newsletter will be sent by email. Your mailing address will allow us to contact you by a method other than email if necessary. Optionally you may include additional information that will better help us reach you, understand your interests and how you found out about us. You may update your contact information or remove your name from our mailing list at any time by sending us an email.

If you sign up to receive the NEEA listserv, your email address is required. A listserv is an automatic broadcast email service. The listserv message will contain a brief NEEA-related news summary and often times contain a link to more details on the NEEA website. You may update or remove your email address any time by visiting the Alliance1listserv.

If you contact us by mail, phone or email to order publications, we will only use the information you provide to fulfill your order or contact you about your order. NEEA reports and other documents can be requested by calling 503-827-8416 ext 221 or emailing us.

If you voluntarily provide us with personal information as part of an online survey, we will use it to perform various quantitative and qualitative analyses to improve our services. We may forward the information to contracted personnel who will analyze the collected data. You are under no obligation to participate in such surveys. Non-participation will not inhibit your use of our website in any way.

NEEA has a strict no-spam policy. Email addresses of those who send spam through our website are automatically linked to the sender’s numerical Internet Protocal address. We then use this information to take appropriate action against the sender. "Spam" generally refers to unwanted advertising emails.

Our website contains links to other agencies and organizations. Once you access another site or contact another organization, you are subject to the privacy policy of that organization.

Technical Problems
If you have technical problems with the operation of our website, please report them to our webmaster.

Compelled Disclosure
If we are required by law to disclose any information that you have submitted, we will attempt to notify you (unless we are prohibited) that a request for your information has been made in order to give you an opportunity to object to the disclosure. We will attempt to provide this notice by email, if you have given us an email address, or by postal mail if you have entered a postal address. We will independently object to overly broad requests for access to information about users of our site. If you do not challenge the disclosure request, we may be legally required to turn over your information.
